This most affordable tablet will cost you as little as $40 (approx Rs. 2000 only) and will debut in April. Expected to be more powerful to its predecessor, the Aakash 2 Tablet will feature a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display, and a 700 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. That’s all will be backed by a 3200mAh battery that can deliver 3 hours of battery life. The slate will be flavored by yet has to confirm an Android version.
While, the original Aakash tablet had a resistive touchscreen, a 366
MHz ARM 11 processor, and a battery that was only good for around 2
hours.
Reportedly, the DataWind (the manufacturer of Aakash tablet) would supply 1-lakh upgraded Aakash tablets and then extent the distribution further so that all students had a tablet in their hand in the next 4 to 5 years, exactly what Human Resource Development’s Minister Kapil Sibal stated recently.
